The biggest story in the automotive industry for the past month was Toyota’s accelerator problems, which forced the company to recall millions of units from its line-up.

Just how badly was Toyota affected by their problems? Understandably, Toyota suffered a steep decline in sales. However, the 8.7% decline wasn’t as bad as the company expected it to be. Toyota’s major sellers, like the Corolla and the Camry, still sold well. In fact, they moved up in the top 10 rankings for the month of February.

The biggest winner for the month of February was Ford, with a 43% sales increase. GM couldn’t capitalize as well, but it still benefited from an 11.5% sales increase.

The other big winner in February was Subaru, with a record 38% increase in sales. Other big names like Nissan had a 29.4% increase in sales, while Honda had a relatively modest 12.2% increase.

  1. Ford F-Series: 32,895
  2. Honda Accord: 22,456
  3. Chevy Silverado: 19,822
  4. Toyota Corolla: 16,996
  5. Toyota Camry: 16,552
  6. Honda Civic: 16,471
  7. Ford Fusion: 16,459
  8. Nissan Altima: 16,198
  9. Ford Escape: 15,156
  10. Chevy Malibu: 15,150
