housing-4Here are more rent-free living advice and solutions that may prove to be just what you need to get a headstart.

Be the landlord’s right hand

If you have a good hand for house repairs, then you can apply as an apartment manager. This job is even better if you have experience and skills in handling people. However, before you accept an offer like this, research where the apartment building is, its state of maintenance and its type of tenants. Be prepared, too, to have unusual living quarters, like an apartment next to all the utility areas.

Back to the nest

A difficult but practical piece of advice for rent-free living is to go back home to your parents. However, it would be best to either help around the house and be the house or neighborhood handyman, or contribute to the home budget with your own income. This way, you can save up more and get back on your feet faster.

One concern with this option is that you should be in good terms with your parents for this to work.

As you can see, there are many options if you’re willing to take them. Living rent-free, be it a lifestyle or simply trying to make ends meet, shouldn’t be seen as an easy way out. It’s a good strategy to gain lost ground while the economy is recovering.
