People who like their work tend to do their best. And happy workers are those who find the perfect job-fit. Many job hunting tips suggest that you try the “job personality type test.” Here are some questions you could ask yourself:

Are you a people person?

Do you like caring for others? Do you relate well with children? Are you able to communicate effectively despite having a gentle demeanor? If so, you’ll most likely have a good fit as an elementary school teacher.

You’ll need at least a bachelor’s degree from a teaching program and a state teaching license. However, some private schools still accept teachers who aren’t licensed by the state.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicated that elementary school teachers earned a median annual salary of $49,330 in 2008.

Are you the type who loves to talk a lot?

Can you talk to anyone with ease? If so, you could find the right fit by becoming a publicist.

Publicists are tasked to maintain a positive public image for an organization or a celebrity through press releases, events or media opportunities. According to the BLS, publicists earned a median annual salary of $51,280 in 2008.

Do you like fine dining?

If you’re the type who has food and wine magazines in the house and loves watching Emeril Lagasse or Wolfgang Puck, then perhaps you’ll enjoy becoming a chef. Most chefs hone their craft by pursuing programs in culinary institutes. Others pursue an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in the culinary arts. Executive chefs made an annual salary of $38,770 in 2008, according to the BLS.

Are you good with numbers?

If you can calculate sales taxes with little effort, a career as a bookkeeper may be suited for you. Bookkeepers maintain financial records by preparing reports, keeping track of deposits and financial statements. In 2008, bookkeepers earned a median annual salary of $32,510 according to the BLS.

Are you an avid fan of video games?

Many assume that video games are just fun and games. However, video games can also net you a lucrative income. Behind the best video games in the market today are hard-working and creative computer software engineers. According to the BLS, computer software engineers earned a median annual salary of $85,430 in 2008.
