Part-time employment isn’t only about extra income. It could also be your way to a new career. This segment will tackle some of the more popular part-time jobs currently available:

  1. Massage Therapist – Most massage therapists are self-employed, and have control of their own time. Others have the option to work in clinics and in partnership with other alternative health professionals, such as chiropractors and acupuncturists. Career training and licensing requirements for this profession may vary per state. The median massage therapist’s salary is estimated at $19.16 per hour.
  2. Bill or Account Collector – More and more companies need bill or account collectors. The demand is not just restricted to financial institutions, since many opportunities are also found in doctor’s offices and in hospitals. You can gain practical knowledge through online undergraduate programs or online associate’s degrees in accounting, business and bookkeeping. The median account collector’s salary is estimated at $15.47 per hour.
  3. Dental Assistant – These professionals take X-rays, prepare patients and handle other desk duties. A certificate program is enough to qualify as a dental assistant. In addition, you may have the option to further your education online as a dental hygienist to qualify for higher salaries. The median dental assistant’s salary is estimated at $15.95 per hour.
  4. Product Promoter – These professionals work in salesrooms, technology trade shows, malls, supermarkets or other venues where they have the opportunity to promote various products to anyone passing buy. Strong people skills and keen product knowledge are important for this line of work. Online undergraduate programs in computers, business, fashion design or sales and marketing could be beneficial in increasing your product knowledge. The median product promoter’s salary is estimated at $13.05 per hour.
